Recent years had seen the property at 915 Broadway decline in use to a point of urban decay. It had been underutilized, serving as a neglected home to a revolving door of businesses, without providing any real benefit to the neighborhood.
A new ownership group formed with the vision of revitalizing the property and transforming the parcel into a community asset. Silva Stowell was honored to be brought on to design this office/restaurant, mixed-use project for the community to enjoy. In fact, Silva Stowell Architects is also located on-site at 915 Broadway.
Outside, the once barren hardscape has been enlivened with an abundance of landscape. An olive ‘grove’ lines a central spine of stamped pavement to complement a new pedestrian area frontage of the building. Inviting pathways reach out to the sidewalk on Broadway, enabling foot traffic, and bicycle racks have been placed in several locations for the convenient use of neighborhood riders.
